Not a Care in the World for This Coyote

On an extremely hot summer day in August at the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley National Park, a lone coyote rests on the cool grass totally oblivious to the people around him on their way to the swimming pool.
Coyotes in the park are protected and have few natural predators. Under these circumstances it is easy for the coyote to lose their instinctive fear of humans.
